About West
Chester Youth Girls Lacrosse:
West Chester
Youth Girls Lacrosse is for residents of the West Chester Area in grades 1
through 8. West Chester Youth
Lacrosse is affiliated with the Philadelphia Area Girl’s Lacrosse
Association (PAGLA), and is a non-profit organization run by
volunteers.
West Chester
Youth Girls Lacrosse’s Goal is to teach players fundamental skills for
success on and off the field. Foster
sound fundamentals in a fun and upbeat learning environment. Teach individual skills with an
understanding of the relationship to team concepts. Prepare each player for the next level of
lacrosse.
Teams are
organized by grades 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8
Grades 1/2 Clinic:
Practices
will begin mid to late March.
Practices will be once a week for approximately 1 hour and 30
minutes per practice. Practices will
be help within the West Chester Area.
Practice field locations, days, and times will be posted on this
website after our February organization meeting. All the 1/2s will practice together in a
“clinic” format in which the girls rotate throughout various stations to
learn/improve fundamental skills such as cradling, ground balls,
passing/catching, shooting, and defense.
Grades 3/4:
Practices
will begin mid to late March.
Practices will be twice a week for approximately 1 hour and 30
minutes per practice. Practices will be held within the West Chester
Area. Practice field locations,
days, and times will be posted on this website after our February
organization meeting. Games will
begin in April and will be held on Saturdays. Each team will play against other West
Chester Youth Teams and possibly against other PAGLA teams. The season ends around Memorial Day.
**Our goal is
to form balanced teams in terms of STRENGTH. We will not accept requests to be placed on a specific team or
with particular coaches and/or friends.
The coaching staff and West Chester Youth Directors will assign each
player to a team.
Grades 5/6:
Practices
will begin mid to late March.
Practices will be twice a week for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes
per practice. Practices will be held within the West Chester Area. Practice field locations, days, and times
will be posted on this website after our February organization meeting. Games will begin in April and will be
held on Saturdays. Each team will
play against other West Chester Youth Teams and possibly against other
PAGLA teams. The season ends around
Memorial Day.

All Players
will need the following lacrosse equipment to play:
1 - Colored mouth guard
1 - Protective eye guard
1 - GIRLS Lacrosse
Stick
*Cleats and/or turf shoes are recommended, but not required.
We expect all
players to be committed to their teammates, coaches, and to the
program. We understand that
periodically there will be conflicts, but your teammates and coaches expect
you to attend practices and games.
Practices for
Grades 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 will be held at Kelly’s Field and within the
West Chester Area. Practice field
locations, days, and times will be posted on this website after our
February organization meeting.
